Time passes really fast. One second I was planning in furthering my studies, next second I'm already here!! I was so busy with preparation that I dint have the time to say goodbye to any of my friends. I know no one really reads my blog besides my sad self, but if you happen to be reading it, take care and see you soon. :D

I departed from Malaysia on Friday (18th Sept 2009) at 4pm (malaysian time) by AirAsia X. It was a long 14 hours direct flight. To be honest, it's not that bad because you can rent all sort of entertainments for a very reaosnable price. The meals in AirAsia X was way better than what MAS offered.

Ahead of schedule, I arrived in Stansted airport about 10.35pm (UK time). Going through custom was really frustrating, it took 1 hour to pass through the gate. :( After that I had to rush and get my coach ticket to Hatfield. The bus ride to Hatfield was about 45 minutes, not too bad actually. The bus dropped me right infront of a shopping mall called "the galleria". From that spot, I started walking around searching for my campus and by the time I got there it was 2am. An exhausting day for me, I went to my room and slept. Ahhh~~
Painful experience! OUCH!
Last night while I was having dinner, my unzipped camera bag just rolled off from my lap causing my 50mm lens and flashgun to drop from a feet high. At that moment I thought "that's it, it's gone....it's gone....". I picked those items up and tested it again and again making sure everything is fine. I was happy with the test result, everything was fine. :D
Street photography
Street photography is one of my favorite type of photography. Looking at many established street photographers really motivates me. Well, executing it is way harder than I thought. In Kuala Lumpur, I think the best place to do street photography would be Sungei Wang and Central Market area (at least for me).
I went to Sungei Wang this afternoon. Thought of doing some street photography since its been awhile since I last touched my camera. When I got there, I just can't seem to shoot anything. My camera was in the bag the whole time. There were few things that kept me from taking out my camera to shoot.
1. Permission - Do I need permission to shoot somebody? I know for myself that I don't need to but will they be mad after I take that shot? Will trouble find me? I don't have such problem shooting with other locations. Why? The answer is in reason no.2.
2. The people - Malaysia is not a bad place to live in, and malaysians are nothing but a bunch of humble people. But the people I want to photograph are not the humble but the more fashionable ones. To be honest I'm not sure if it's their fashion or the type of "gang" they are in, but the mohawk, leather jackets, body piercing, high boots, dark eyeliners, and them walking in groups attracted me in photographing them. If I were to snap a photo of them, what are the consequences?
I just realised how hard it can be. In today's task, I failed. But I shall come back again to shoot what I want to shoot. This time, I'll be bring my friends along just for safety reasons. :D

Little photography around the house
Last week, I D.I.Y-ed my own macro lens by using the front part of a binocular and attached it to the Nikkor 50mm f1.8. The results were better than the one I did before this which came out too shallow, making it really difficult to focus. When I shoot with this "macro" lens, I will usually attach my flashgun together because I find the results much more satisfying. See below:-
I took off the "macro" lens when I noticed this Orchid. It was already night time, so i placed the vase in position where the background is just pure darkness. It was a challenge trying to focus on the flower and after a few shots, it's still not that good. But i was happy. :D
p/s: hmmm..i think the picture is a little too small...oops
Should I delete it?
I'm actually having this dilemma weather should I or should I not delete my old photos? I know my photos are ugly and yet I dont feel like deleting it just because I took those shots. It's like I know I can't another shot like that again because the same opportunity don't come twice. And at the same time, I know I'm not going to use that shot at all. Not in this blog, not to be sent in for contests, not to be shown to other because its just not a good shot to me. The worst is that these photos are eating up my harddisk space.
Is anyone of you facing the same problem?? What are the side effects after deleting it? mentally disturbed? lol!
I think i'll just sit and think about it. hmm...

I See Hope
I went to KL town this afternoon with my mom to get her teeth checked. As usual, traffic was really bad. Suddenly a guy on a bike knock my left side mirror and went off without apologising. I got a little pissed until this malay lady riding a bike stopped beside my car and helped me put my side mirror back in position, then she smiled at me. I was really thankful to her and that really made my day.
what i'm trying to say is that if we do little things for each other, ignore our differences in race, religeon, skin colour etc. we can make Malaysia a better place to be in.
